We challenge you to DRAW a super hero for each one of the Fantastic Four Themes. Turn in your entries on plain white paper to either Mrs. Barrow, Mrs. Wicker or Ms. Buis.

Shoal River students took time out of their day to meet some of the characters from the book Schooled by Gordon Korman. All HORSE classes will read the book the first 9 weeks.

The 6th Grade Survival Camp was a huge success! Students were able to get a jump start on the year by practicing their locker combinations, getting their PE uniforms, learning about the sports requirements, walking their class schedule, going over the Shoal River website and meeting PTO parents. And, they could stop and take a break at "The Beach" every once in a while and admire the view!

Schedule Changes:
With the Class Size Amendment being placed at the per class level, we cannot have more than 22 in any core class any period. Therefore, schedule changes will be difficult, if not impossible, to do once the master schedule is set.

Uniforms are a gray SRMS shirt and your choice of blue or red shorts.
Dress Code Guidelines to Follow:
- The 3 X 5 Index Card Rule: Shirt straps must be at least 3” in width on the shoulders.
- Shorts and skirts must be no shorter than 5” above the knee.
- No holes or rips in jeans or shorts. Duct tape may not be used to cover rips and tears. Students will be sent home for a change of clothes before returning to class.
- Pants may not sag. “Twine suspenders” are issued for repeat offenders.
- Stomachs must be covered when arms are raised above the head.
- Undergarments or cleavage should not show at anytime.
- Hair color must be naturally occurring. (Ex: NO red, blue, pink, purple, green, etc)
- No Mohawks or other visually distracting haircuts which create a disturbance to the learning environment.
Remember these tips while “back to school” shopping this fall. In doing so, you will prepare yourself for a great year as you DRESS FOR SUCCESS
