Mission:
From the official FLL site- “The best way to summarize FIRST LEGO League is to say that it is a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology -- and teach them valuable employment and life skills."

Shoal River Program - Using Lego Mindstorm Robotics, a team of students create a computer programmable Robot. We find out what the challenge will be at the beginning of the year from the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognization of Science and Technology) foundation. The challenge is an obstacle course that the team must build and program its robot to navigate.

The team also has a research project that they have to accomplish.

At competitions the team is judged on:

  • Teamwork

  • Robotics Development

  • Research

  • The ability to go through the obstacle course
